Overhand Knot

This page contains instructions for a simple overhand knot.

The overhand knot, which you have probably used many times, while not a particularly decorative knot is a useful, practical, knot. You need only one cord to learn it.

Make a loop over the cord.
Bring the end under the cord.

Bring the end through the loop.
Tighten.
